Duke's Midnight Odyssy Okay, here's a little write up on my second short animated film Duke's Midnight Odyssy . The music, also written in LMMS, was conceived separately from the video. This ended up as a tribute to Genesis, Thelonious Monk, and Stanley Kubrick. It's a little mashup, if you will. The song's chord changes are from Thelonious Monk's 'Round Midnight . The melodies in the second half are inspired by the 1980 Genesis album Duke --specifically Duke's Travels and Duke's End. Obviously, the visuals are inspired by Stanley Kubrick's 1968 masterpiece, 2001: A Space Odyssy . I don't really know how or why it evolved in this way. I wanted to do something in outer space and it kind of grew from there. Also note, this was rendered in Blender Internal. Let me know what you think.
